The study explores the role of migration in improving household livelihoods and reduce poverty focusing on Bagmati province of Nepal. The research employs a mixed methods approach combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to analyze the impact of migration on household welfare, resilience, and economic outcomes. The study also focuses on household livelihoods, remittance allocation, and implications for livelihood diversification and rural sustainability. The key findings show that the livelihood level could be increased from migration and the lack of vocational skills training and availability of limited employment opportunities are the primary causes of the increasing trend of migration in Nepal. Policy recommendations focusing on sufficient vocational training opportunities to needy youths, awareness creation on migration regarding benefits, risks, and remittance utilization in productive investment to generate incomes at the community level.
